Motorola Moto X with Customizable looks
Motorola Moto X is the first phone by the Motorola Mobility after Google bought it in 2011 and it is surely a solid effort by the company to get back in the spotlight by incorporating a number of ideas into a single device. It’s not actually a game changer for the company but it is surely a really, really nice device that Motorola has ever produced. It is a highly customizable smartphone with multiple choices like two front colors, 18 back colors, 7 different accent colors and different materials even including wood. It’s a great device on almost all levels and its Google Now integration with different customization options are surely innovative and fun to use.
All the core features of Motorola Moto X are explained in this review below, so you can have better idea what else it offers besides the different customization options.
Build Quality –
Moto X is a compact stylish looking handset and company has emphasized on easy one handed operation while using the device. Moto Maker site allows you to order the phone with your own personal settings and looks. You can customize the phone by selecting any of the choices available between 2 front colors, customized message printed on the back of the screen, 18 back colors and several accent colors. Overall, it is a sturdily-built device with solid two piece construction along with HTC One style curved design, which makes it really comfortable to use with single hand.
Display –
Moto X surely rocks with its 4.7inch AMOLED screen with the resolution of 1280x720 pixels along with 312ppi pixels density. It is a bit less than the 326ppi density offered in Apple iPhone 5’s retina display but it’s plenty sharp to provide you great media viewing experience. Videos, games and other multi-media stuffs look really good on the phone and a bit lower resolution of the screen also saves the battery.

Most of the software features in the Moto X revolve around Google Now which you can start using by just giving a voice instruction by saying “Ok Google Now”. Its separate language recognition processor allows you to customize it to only recognize your voice and reject others while using with voice commands. It is running a bit twisted Nexus like Android 4.2.2 Jelly bean operating system version with some bit better addition features like touch less control etc. Overall, the software features of the phone are impressive enough to provide you great smartphone experience.
Hardware Features –
Moto X is widely acclaimed as a mid-range device but it is also plenty powerful. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with 2GB of RAM and it also comes with 4G LTE and NFC support too. 16GB and 32GB internal storage is offered in two separate models along with 50GB Google Drive storage in the phone. It is able to capture 1080p quality videos and comes with quick access mode to control the camera. Overall, the hardware features of the phone are not top notch quality but these are surely good enough to provide decent smartphone experience.
Wrapping Up –
Moto X is not a top notch device comparing to the different Android flagship devices available in the market at the moment, but it is surely a unique smartphone because of multiple customization options. Its Google Now integration with Voice Command support is a real good treat for the lovers of Stock Android interface. It doesn’t pushes the boundaries for processing power, photography skills or even for the screen size, but it is a well designed device that is easy to live with and easy to use.
