HTC Desire C Review

HTC Desire C Review
The High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) is a Taiwanese based company which is into manufacturing Smartphone’s and tablets initially based on the Microsoft Windows Mobile Operating System software. The company was founded in 1997 and over a period of time they have launched many mobile models with the latest being the HTC Desire C targeting all those who wish to have an entry level Smartphone in affordable price. Though the mobile may not compete with the top companies and their software’s, the HTC desire C has its own unique features and specifications that surely attracts many mobile buyers. The HTC mobile designing is simple, solid and smart with a width of 2.38” and length of 4.22” as a compact model to carry around easily. The weight of the mobile is 98 grams with a 3.5 inch touch screen.

Design:
The HTC Desire C runs on Android 4.0 with HTC sense 4 cased in the polycarbonate unibody design mimicking its other expensive models from the brand. The smooth finish and the silky edges offer a classy look to the mobile and is really a pleasure to carry around the light weight model phone. The mobile offered with GSM (Quad-Band) and 3G support (Dual-Band) with a 14.4 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support. The desire C model comes only with a single-core processor which is a bit minus to the model with 600MHz and a 512MB RAM with 4GB internal memory making it a bit slow for browsing options available on the phone.

Display:
The screen resolution of the mobile is 320x480 which is sort of a bit disappointment with a screen size of 3.5 inches 16M-color TFT capacitive touch screen not offering much clarity for the text reading. However, the budget phone being blended with the Google’s operating system android 4.0 provides many advantages like making it simple and easy to switch on applications and also being able to conveniently change from the lock screen option to the common applications straight away. The android 4.0 version in this HTC Desire C is surely an advantage to this model allowing one to operate the phone smoothly though with a slow processor.

Features:
The other features of the mobile include messaging options like SMS, MMS, Email, push Email, HTML and Adobe Flash browsers, a radio with FM stereo and RDS, calendar, organizer, document editor/viewer, voice memo/dial, predictive text input offering smart services to the customers.

Camera:
The Smartphone comes with a 5 megapixel camera which has face detection feature and geo tagging offering good quality snaps. But not having LED flash or high speed bust mode may diminish the detail levels in the pictures to some extent. The video option has 640x480 pixels resolution as it offers good quality for regular usage. The Beats audio technology on the mobile offers clarity in sound and one can enjoy music through the HTC head phones provided as accessories along with the model.

Connectivity:
The connectivity features are great on the Desire C model which comes with multiple features incorporating EDGE and GPRS technology that keeps connected to the 2G network. One can also connect to the 3G network with the mobile being able to support that feature as well. Moreover, the HTC Desire C is also Wi-Fi enabled allowing the users to activate the wireless connectivity using the Wi-Fi hotspot function and also transfers data using Bluetooth or micro USB port available on the device. The GPS feature on the mobile helps as a navigation tool using the Goggle maps. The device though has the slow processor of 600MHz it still supports the adobe flash player for functionality.

Operating System:
The Desire C also comes with the Ice Cream Sandwich v4.0 features that allow you to flip notifications from the tray, mobile data usage menu allowing you to set limits on the data usage and warning signs along with the ability to scroll the thumbnails stack displaying the recently used applications. This ICS feature also allows you to resize the widgets making them big or small but other features of ICS available on higher end versions like face unlock is not seen in this model as it being on the lower end and also not having the front facing camera.
 Battery & Memory:
The battery of HTC Desire C is powered with 1230 mAh providing good battery backup for one or two days based on the usage of the customer. However, there is no official information provided on the number of hours for standby or talk time backup for the battery. It has an internal memory of 4 GB which can further be increased by using a micro SD card enhancing the memory up to 32 GB which would be enough to store music or video collections on the mobile.
Colors:
The mobile is available in three colors like Stealth Black, Polar White and Flamenco Red both from online stores and offline stores around a price range of $200. The standard retail packaging includes eco friendly foam box carrying standard micro USB cable for transferring data and charging, a wall charger and a set of headphones.
Conclusion:
So, considering the price it is being offered in market HTC Desire C is really worth the features for those who are looking around to buy a Smartphone for a lighter usage. The Desire C is easy to use with simple to call features and connectivity with people through the advanced technology imbibed in the mobile. It is really a pleasure carrying around Desire C offering entertainment through authentic sound system by Beats audio for those who love enjoying music on their mobiles. It is also very simple to use camera on the mobile and instantly share the pictures or videos by uploading them to friends and family from the mobile itself.
On overall the HTC Desire C reviews by many users talk about the pros like the Ice Cream Sandwich technology, HTC sense 4.0, MicroSD card slot with which they are very much satisfied and a few cons like weak processor of 600MHz, low resolution small screen and low call volume etc for you to make a choice.
